Groupon BeautyNow on Android
We are currently in the process of launching BeautyNow on Android. Our original intention was to do a direct port of the original iOS designs, but translating the flow to material design led to many improvements and forced us to question flow choices we made to align with iOS standards.

Android, unlike iOS, does not have a standard screen aspect ratio. The customizability of devices meant having to rethink scalability and contend with things like landscape mode, a far more popular feature on Android.

The different platforms are also allowing us to test alternative product strategies. On Android, we are taking a far more integrated approach, testing how users respond to the product if it is not distinctly differentiated from core Groupon offerings.

It also gave us the opportunity to reevaluate our post-booking communication. We were able to identify pain points on iOS and optimize to ensure users have the best experience possible at their appointment and encourage repeat use of the product.
